As an important form of the integration between traditional craftsmanship and modern art, Chinese lacquer painting demonstrates unique artistic charm and development potential in the contemporary cultural context. Confronted with the dual impacts of globalization and digitalization, how to achieve innovative development while preserving the essence of tradition has become a core issue that lacquer painting art needs to address. Starting from a modern aesthetic perspective, this paper systematically reviews the historical evolution and contemporary value of Chinese lacquer painting, focusing on exploring its practical paths in inheritance and transformation, cross-border integration, technological empowerment, and discourse system construction. It aims to promote the transformation of Chinese lacquer painting from traditional craftsmanship to contemporary art forms, thereby revitalizing it on the global art stage.
