At present, the shortage of talents in the field of Medical and Nursing care in China has become a bottleneck restricting the development of this model. On the one hand, there is a serious shortage of professional talents. Since Medical and Nursing care services involve multiple disciplines such as medical care, nursing, elderly care, rehabilitation, and psychology, the professional knowledge and skills of practitioners are relatively high. However, there is an extreme shortage of compound talents who understand both medical care and elderly care in the market, which makes it difficult to meet the growing demand for Medical and Nursing care services. On the other hand, the Talent Training system is still imperfect. At present, there are relatively few majors for Medical and Nursing care in China’s higher vocational education and undergraduate education, the curriculum setting lacks systematicness and pertinence, and the practical teaching link is weak, which makes it difficult for the trained students to adapt to the actual needs of Medical and Nursing care positions in terms of knowledge structure and ability quality. Problems such as poor career development channels for Medical and Nursing care talents, low remuneration, and low social recognition have also made this field less attractive to talents, further exacerbating the shortage of talents. 

In this context, it is urgent to explore a scientific, reasonable and effective model for the training of Medical and Nursing combined talents. This is not only related to whether the Medical and Nursing combined model can really take root and bear fruit but also to the well-being of hundreds of millions of elderly people and the harmony and stability of society. Through in-depth research on the training model of Medical and Nursing combined talents, we can start from multiple dimensions such as professional setting, curriculum system construction, teaching method reform, practical teaching base construction, teacher team training, and professional qualification certification, integrate educational resources, optimize the training process, improve the quality of Talent Training, and deliver a large number of high-quality, professional and innovative talents to the field of Medical and Nursing combined. At the same time, this will also help promote the standardization, standardization and professionalization of the Medical and Nursing combined industry, promote the deep integration of medical and health care and elderly care services, and provide solid talent guarantee and intellectual support for China to cope with the challenges of population aging and build a social environment for elderly care and respect for the elderly. Therefore, the exploration of the training model of Medical and Nursing combined talents has important practical significance and far-reaching historical significance, and it is worth our in-depth research and active practice.
