The book “Translation and International Communication of Regional Cultures in China” aims to explore in depth the issues of translation and international communication of Chinese regional cultures. From the basic concepts of regional cultures to the application of translation techniques, and then to the analysis of specific translation cases, we will systematically sort out and study the challenges and opportunities of Chinese regional culture in the process of international communication.

Chapter One starts with regional culture and its translation techniques, defines relevant concepts, and provides a detailed analysis of Chinese characteristic regional culture. From the perspective of communication studies, we explore how to effectively translate the typical regional cultures and introduce some practical translation techniques to help readers understand the complexity and importance of translating regional cultures. Chapter Two provides an overview of regional cultural translation, explaining in detail the concept, value, difficulties, and goals of regional cultural translation. This chapter lays the theoretical foundation for the subsequent specific case analysis. Chapter Three and Chapter Four respectively conduct case studies on the translation of material culture and non-material culture. We have selected representative examples, such as the dragon robes of the Qing Dynasty from the Palace Museum, Kongfu Cuisine, Suzhou Gardens, March 3rd Festival in Guangxi, Kunqu Opera, and Zhuang Yao medical culture in Guangxi. Through these specific cases, we have demonstrated the successful experiences and challenges encountered in translation practice. Chapter Five explores the relationship between typical regional culture translation and international communication, including the definition of concepts related to regional culture, the current status of the international communication of characteristic regional culture in China, the role and function of translation in international communication, and the analysis of communication methods and standards. This section provides a panoramic perspective on how typical regional culture can be effectively disseminated internationally. Chapter Six analyzes the actual situation and future development direction of international communication of regional culture in China through specific cases such as Chongqing dialect, the intangible culture of Gannan Hakka, and the path to improving communication efficiency in the era of artificial intelligence. These cases provide valuable empirical data and analytical perspectives for the international communication of regional cultures in China.
