Introduction

This book mainly analyzes the social stability risks of mega projects and conducts risk assessment research based on the mutation series method. Firstly, the proposal and development background of mega projects and social stability risks are discussed, and the development background and current situation of mega projects in China are analyzed. The concept of social risk and the occurrence mechanism of social stability risks are elaborated, as well as the research status of mega projects and social stability risk assessment both domestically and internationally. Based on the important academic conferences and public debates on the social stability risk assessment of mega projects, necessity analysis is conducted; secondly, based on the principles of constructing a social stability risk evaluation index system for mega projects, a preliminary evaluation index system is established through dimensional analysis and indicator screening. On this basis, dimensional optimization analysis, preliminary system optimization, and system rationality analysis are carried out. Combining with the important focus of mega projects, a social stability risk evaluation index system based on the mutation progression method is constructed; once again, this book will analyze the applicability of the social stability risk assessment theory and method for mega projects, select the mutation series method, and conduct model simulation and evolutionary analysis; finally, through specific case analysis and combined with the actual situation of the project, various scoring indicators were selected for data processing, and evaluation analysis was conducted based on the model to verify the effectiveness and practicality of the social stability risk assessment model for giant projects based on the mutation series method, and corresponding risk prevention and control strategies were adopted.
