Introduction

The aim of this book is to explore how coffee culture integrates with local culinary culture in different regions such as Japan, Italy, and China, and how it affects social stratification. By comparing and analyzing the coffee consumption patterns, coffee shop cultures, and their roles in society in these three countries, this book attempts to reveal how coffee culture reflects and shapes the dynamic changes of social classes in different cultural backgrounds. Chapter 1 will introduce the origin of coffee and its global dissemination process, explore the formation and development of coffee culture, and the role of international brands in promoting the dissemination of coffee culture. Chapter 2 delves into the concept, theory, and applicability of social stratification in different cultural contexts, providing theoretical support for subsequent comparative analysis. The following chapters will focus on coffee culture in Japan, China, and Italy respectively. Chapter 3 will explore the overview of Japanese food culture, analyze Japan's unique coffee consumption patterns and their relationship with social class, and explore the role and influence of coffee shops in Japanese society. Chapter 4 will elaborate on the rise and development of the Chinese coffee market, and explore how coffee consumption affects the changes in the hierarchical structure of Chinese society. Chapter 5 will review the characteristics of Italian culinary culture, explore the development process of Italian coffee culture and its status and influence in society.

Through case studies of these three countries, this book aims to reveal how coffee culture plays a unique role in the dietary culture and social stratification of different regions, and explore the complex relationship between socio-economic and cultural factors behind it. I hope this book can provide readers with a multidimensional understanding of the profound relationship between food culture and social structure, as well as the influence of cultural exchange and integration in the context of globalization.
