Introduction

The book is divided into seven chapters, firstly outlining the general situation of Yunnan's national culture and the theoretical framework of communication, then analysing the process of Yunnan's national culture communication in terms of communication carriers, contents, modes and effects, and then exploring the existing problems and proposing improvement strategies. Throughout the book, we seek to refine the laws of national culture communication and provide reference for the improvement of Yunnan's national culture communication system. The research results of this book can provide reference for the decision-making of Yunnan's national culture communication and enrich the theoretical system of communication and ethnology, which is of great academic value and practical significance.

The first chapter focuses on the background and significance of the study, introducing the necessity and importance of studying the dissemination of Yunnan ethnic culture. At the same time, the chapter outlines the content and methodology of the study and emphasises the importance of cultural research from the perspective of communication studies.

Chapter 2 provides a comprehensive overview of Yunnan's ethnic cultures, including the classification of Yunnan's ethnic groups, the characteristics of major ethnic cultures, and the status of cultural resources. This provides a basis for understanding the diversity and richness of Yunnan's culture.

Chapter 3 introduces the basic concepts of communication and applies them to the study of ethnocultural communication and intercultural exchange. The chapter also explores the modes and mechanisms of cultural communication and analyses the role of power and discourse in cultural communication from a critical perspective.

Chapter 4 focuses on the traditional modes of transmission of Yunnan's ethnic cultures, including oral transmission, transmission of intangible cultural heritage, rituals and festivals, and ethnic arts and crafts. This section emphasises the role of traditional modes of communication in maintaining cultural continuity.

Chapter 5 explores the role of modern media such as television, radio and online media in the transmission of Yunnan's ethnic cultures. This chapter pays particular attention to how media convergence affects cultural preservation and dissemination.

Chapter 6 looks at the changes in Yunnan ethnic culture in the digital age. From the use of digital technology in cultural recording to the role of social media in cultural communication, to the impact of digitisation on traditional culture and the challenges it poses for cultural preservation and innovation, the chapter takes a comprehensive look at many aspects of cultural development in the digital age.

Chapter 7 discusses cultural inheritance and innovation from the perspective of communication studies, with special emphasis on the modern inheritance of traditional culture, the role of innovation in cultural communication, the integration of national culture with modern society, and the importance of cultural policy and management.

In general, the book comprehensively and systematically analyses the manifestations, dissemination mechanisms and impact effects of Yunnan's national culture in different communication environments from the perspective of communication studies, providing a new perspective and theoretical framework for understanding and studying national cultural communication, which is of great theoretical and practical significance for promoting the preservation, dissemination and innovation of Yunnan's and even China's national culture.
