Facing the problems faced by English reading, we must face them squarely and find solutions. Firstly, the improvement of understanding ability is crucial. Some learners encounter difficulties in the reading process, mainly due to inadequate understanding of sentence structure, grammar rules, and discourse coherence. Therefore, the book will introduce some teaching strategies to address these issues, helping students improve their overall and detailed understanding of the article through systematic language analysis and training. Secondly, the accumulation and application of vocabulary are also important factors in reading. When students face a large number of new words, they may feel frustrated and confused. Therefore, we will explore some effective methods of vocabulary teaching, such as root and affix analysis, contextual inference, and vocabulary expansion activities, to help students better understand and apply new words. Finally, improving reading speed is crucial for learners. Slow reading speed can affect learners' grasp of the overall structure of the article and their ability to capture key information. Therefore, we will share some practical techniques to improve reading speed, such as fast reading, scanning, and skimming, to help students process English reading materials more efficiently.  

The goal of this book is to stimulate innovative thinking among teachers and students by introducing the PBL teaching method and providing strategies to solve reading problems, and to open up a new path for English teaching. We believe that through joint efforts and continuous practice, we can break through the barrier of reading, improve students' English reading ability, and enable them to read and understand English texts more confidently and fluently. May this book provide practical guidance for English teachers and learners, stimulate their interest in English reading, and help them continuously move towards new heights in their language learning journey.
