From my perspective, "Art and Machines" is a comprehensive analysis of the combination of machines and art, tracing the evolution and development of machines and their integration into different aspects of human life. Gao's work highlights how machines have influenced the field of art, inspiring a series of the art institution and impacting the way we perceive and understand the world around us. What stands out in Gao's research is his understanding of how machines extend and change how we see the world and how social processes and institutions work. His work highlights how technology is making the production of intelligent machine vision invisible and how machines are replacing conventional forms of perception as the primary mode of visualization. This affects how we see and understand the world and how social processes and institutions work. Gao's research reveals this invisible process in the form of art from an advanced perspective, with the help of technology and machines, as a creative method. 

The book also highlights the potential for new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data visualization, and brain-computer interfaces, to create new art forms and push the boundaries of creativity. Gao's research shows how these technologies are already used in various fields and play a vital role in the effect. Artificial intelligence makes it easier for ordinary people to design work and can be used to analyse images seen by machines' intelligent algorithms and computer vision.
