In the context of the current rapid development of the digital economy, the news industry is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. With the continuous progress of Internet technology and the application of emerging technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, the way of news reporting and dissemination has undergone fundamental changes. These changes have not only affected the way news content is produced, but also had a profound impact on the quality and dissemination efficiency of news. In order to explore this issue, this paper systematically combs through the literature on the impact of the development of the digital economy on news reporting, including the changes in the way news is collected, edited, distributed, and received by the audience. After further analyzing the challenges these changes bring to news authenticity, objectivity, and in-depth reporting, the paper explores how to improve the quality of news reporting through technological means and industry self-regulation from the dimensions of technological innovation and journalistic ethics. The conclusions drawn in this paper are of great significance in understanding the challenges faced by news reporting in the era of digital economy and its coping strategies. It not only helps the news industry to adapt to the development of digital economy and improve the quality and efficiency of news reporting, but also provides a reference for policy makers to better formulate relevant policies to promote the healthy development of the news industry.
